I’ve lived high performance — and its limits.
I'm Ulf Marhenke, founder of Trustwork. For over 15 years, I worked as a corporate/M&A lawyer in some of the world’s most demanding law firms. Like many in the profession, I was driven, ambitious — and eventually, at the edge of exhaustion.
That moment became a turning point.
I took a step back and chose to look deeper: into the patterns behind success, the dynamics of leadership, and the culture of law firms. At INSEAD, I earned an Executive Master in Change and conducted in-depth research on lawyer well-being — based on interviews with over 140 professionals from global law firms.
What I found reflected my own experience: High performance without self-reflection comes at a cost. Trustwork is my response to that insight.
Today, I combine legal expertise, systemic thinking, and executive coaching to support lawyers and law firms in finding a better way forward — where performance and well-being go hand in hand.
